Support Worker who is passionate about making a difference for
children in care and the foster carers who support them. If you’re

Overview As a Family Support Worker with Compass Fostering, you
will support children facing challenges and provide practical and
emotional guidance to foster carers, helping them build strong,
positive relationships with the children in their care. This
exciting role offers the opportunity to provide additional support
to both carers and the children and young people we care for, with
the flexibility of hybrid working to support a healthy work-life
balance. This is a part time position based in the South West of
England. Key Responsibilities Provide outstanding care and support
to children and young people in our care. Work with carers,
children, and stakeholders to help children reach their full
potential. Deliver direct support to children and foster carers,
contributing to individual support plans. Attend and participate in
planning meetings and reviews. Promote child participation and
ensure their voices are heard. Support and promote carers’ groups,
gathering feedback to improve services. Work alongside Therapeutic
Services and allocated Social Workers to enhance children’s
experiences and care stability. Contribute to the growth and
development of the Fostering Service. Requirements Previous
experience in family support, social work, or a similar role is
essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the
ability to build trust and rapport. Flexible, non-judgmental
approach, able to adapt to different family dynamics and changing
needs. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently. A
valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one). Some weekend
and evening work will be required; these are not fixed hours but
will need to be scheduled in your diary as needed, so flexibility
is essential. It is Essential That You: Bring a reflective and
creative approach to working with foster carers and young people,
helping them reach their full potential. Can manage your own
workload, providing support, guidance, and skill-building to carers
and children. Are passionate about making a difference and
contributing to the growth and development of the fostering
service. Have experience in a fostering-related support role and/or
within children’s social care. Hold strong knowledge of fostering
regulations, childcare legislation, and safeguarding practices.
