defense, and telecommunications. Job Summary: NanoSI is seeking a
dynamic and results-driven Program Manager to lead and oversee
various research and educational programs. Exceptional
organizational skills and attention to detail are required, and
familiarity with research grants administration is preferred. The
Program Manager will provide administrative and project management
support for the research in the NanoSI Institute. Reporting to the
Director of Operations and Finance and serving as a key member of
the NanoSI research support team to provide planning, project
management, procurement, and administrative support to the NanoSI
faculty with internal and external research funding. Key
Responsibilities: Project Management Facilitate the development of
research proposals, grant applications, and publications in
collaboration with research staff and faculty. Oversee educational
programs, curriculum development, and student engagement efforts to
drive academic excellence and knowledge dissemination. Oversee
internal research awards and help with administrative tasks
including purchasing, hiring, and scheduling related to the
proposed work. Assist funded NanoSI researchers with scheduling,
purchasing, and other administrative tasks related to executing
their funded research projects. Collaborate with finance and
administration teams to secure funding and resources for research
and educational programs. Continuously evaluate program
effectiveness and implement improvements as needed. Financial and
Budget Support: Collaborate in budget tracking, expense reporting,
and financial management for research projects and educational
initiatives within the Institute. Process financial documents,
including grant applications, reimbursements, and invoices,
ensuring accuracy in financial operations. Monitor expenditures and
financial data, reporting any discrepancies or issues as needed.
Marketing and Communications Assist with communications to Faculty
about upcoming research funding deadlines, events, trainings, and
opportunities to engage with research sponsors. Track research
activity by strategic theme and support the inclusion of research
data and examples in college and university level reports,
presentations, and strategic funding applications. Track NanoSI
research publications and achievements. Serve as NanoSI Marketing
and Communications staff to document and publicize NanoSI research
achievements internally and with the broader Northeastern
University community, including the university’s research
publications. Administrative Support Assist the Institute Directors
with research conferences, workshops, meetings, events, and
speakers. Collaborate with the Institute staff team to plan,
market, and execute abovementioned events. Prepare regular
operations reports for Institute leadership, highlighting
achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Other
research and administrative support activities as defined by the
Institute Directors. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years
of project management experience, preferably in an academic
setting, with broad understanding of academic operations and
research required. Must be comfortable working both independently
and as part of a team and be comfortable meeting deadlines and
balancing competing priorities. Demonstrate technical proficiency
required to do the job; provide technical expertise to others; have
and use cross-functional knowledge to support interdepartmental
connections. Project management experience—strong skills in
developing timelines, creating and maintaining project
documentation. Experience submitting proposals and working with
research investigators. Knowledge of accounting standards and
experience performing financial analysis. Demonstrate
organizational skills, attention to detail, written and verbal
communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service
orientation. Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets
and resources effectively. Strong proficiency in Outlook calendar
management skills and Microsoft Office tools, including SharePoint,
Excel. Familiarity with university systems and procedures is
advantageous. Must be able to report to the Boston, MA campus.

Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 107S Expected Hiring Range: $53,615.00
- $75,728.75 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary
will depend on several factors, which may include your education,
experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well
as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the
role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to
change.
